Last year’s festival was a blast! While it was our 7th annual festival, it was the first on the grounds at Christ Church Anglican, 28th St W & Ave E N. The theme was “new venue, same great art”!
The festival was resurrected in response to community outcry after being cancelled earlier that summer. Just 24 days before the festival, members of the planning committee held the first of four meetings. Not only did the entire festival need planning, but the general public also needed to be informed that the festival was back on, and that it would be located at the church this year!
As the countdown drew to a close, it was definitely not “business as usual” at Christ Church. By 7 a.m. on festival day the building and grounds of the historic church were already bustling as numerous volunteers from the community, churches, and high schools worked to set up the site.
Although less than half the previous year’s attendance, the festival was well attended by approximately 400 festival-goers who enjoyed art by 44 artists and 9 musical performances on two stages throughout the day.
