Master of Ceremonies

After years of university, Gillian Snider found herself with an MA in philosophy, and a yearning to write songs, sing jazz and play the accordion. Over the last while she has opened for the likes of Michel Donato, Karin Plato and Geoff Berner, she’s joined Mary Margaret O’Hara, Eliana Cuevas and Mr. Something Something on the stage, she performs regularly at Saskatoon’s Jazz Bassment, the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, the Ness Creek Music Festival and A Taste of Saskatchewan, and she continues to perform throughout the year both for corporate events and at local venues that graciously support live music. The accordion and song writing has opened up an odd and adventurous world which has taken Gillian across the country and back with the Great Train Reverie, Malika Sellami, the Ray Elliott Band and, of course, Gillian’s own project The Whiskey Jerks. Aside from happily performing, recording and touring with musicians she loves, Gillian can also be found on the airwaves every Monday morning at 8am on CFCR 90.5 FM, and behind the bar three nights a week at 6Twelve Lounge.
